Hi! I’m M. Laufer. I’m always on the quest to learn something new (if my cat permits me).
Hi everyone,
Thanks for dropping in!
My name is M. Laufer and I’m from Northampton Massachusetts.
I was adopted from the Philippines at 9 months old and grew up in what they call the “Tofu Curtain” with four awesome sisters and the best parents one could ever ask for.
In 2005 I graduated from Mount Holyoke College with a Bachelor’s in Psychology and a Dance minor. I graduated from Smith College School For Social Work in 2012 and worked for nearly three years as a family therapist in Boston. I got my LICSW in 2016, and then I chased a several-year dream of being fluent in Spanish. I moved to Lima, Peru in 2016, and I have stayed here since.
I hope you enjoy reading my articles and that you follow our publication on our journey of making the world a more welcoming place for critical thinking.
No one told me learning Spanish would be so hard! But, I think I have reached my dream, but please don’t ask me to say words ending in -ato or -uerta. Ugh, it will not sound great.
I came to Peru to volunteer in Rurapuk, a social service project for children in the foothills…
